Yes, life is challenging, exciting and you never know exactly what's ahead... but to not challenge your self is not a full life.
I grew up in the wide open spaces of Iowa where a crowded highway might be a couple of John Deere tractors jocking for position to turn from a highway into a field to pick some corn.

One day back in school, I brought home my class picture and of course had to show my mom. She asked, "why didn't you smile in the photo? I assured her that I in fact did smile, it just didn't show, I said!" I guess the humor side of me has always been on the inside, art is the way I get it on the outside...

Fall came around one day and I went off to a military school in Minnesota where I got a bit of organizational training, dinning etiquette, hockey exuberance...of course everybody plays hockey in Minnesota not to mention the Great One's son who now plays there...and then there was my introduction to art. All of that structure needed an outlet I guess.

Summer time got me into my first job working for a civil engineer learning the use of a Rapidograph, filling de-clogging them and enjoying them when they worked correctly which I used on plans for the city's sewer system, a regular Ed Norton from the Honeymooners.

As I attended and earn my degree at Colorado State University, I found my niche in the Graphic Design department where I learned to apply my art to the real world and hopefully earn a real living too.

Currently, I reside high in the Colorado mountains with my beautiful wife Gwen and somewhat trusty dog Winston, a very smart Border terrier. I work in my home office creating illustrations, cards, charts and other marketing materials for a number of clients all over the country.
